We stayed in Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma which is a 40-minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. We stayed in water bungalows for 4 nights & 5 days, which are very popular among tourists.
In my opinion Maldives, though beautiful, is also an expensive place to visit.
Once you arrive in Male, typically your resort/hotel arranges for transfers by boat or a small charter plane to your destination island. It was extremely exhausting to visit surrounding islands and local towns. At our resort, a single boat trip would approximately $100-$200 USD. As compared to India, these prices were extremely high for us. However, in Male, things are a lot cheaper. A meal would cost roughly $6 USD, whereas, at our resort, a meal would cost roughly $50 USD.
Overall, our trip was a lot of fun and relaxing. Any place that you stay in Maldives will be stunning! Definitely choose Maldives to visit at least once, to relax, unwind, enjoy the sun and click a lot of incredible photographs!
